Inspecting and Sharpening the Blade Installing the Blade 1. Install the blade onto the spindle or blade driver. If the blade has curved tips (sails), they should be pointing towards the mower housing (Figure 9). If the bolt or nut uses a nylon patch or similar lock feature, it should be replaced every third time it has been removed. The patch will wear out with use. If a lock washer is used, inspect it for damage and replace if warranted. Figure 9 MVC-713X.jpg 2. Refer to the owner's manual for your particular unit for proper blade bolt/nut torque.
