Introduction Connections 2 Chapter Connections Connecting to an audio system You can enjoy the benefits of Dolby Digital Plus or Dolby TrueHD by connecting the HDMI output of your player to an AV receiver with an HDMI audio input. You can listen to down-converted Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby TrueHD as well as Dolby Digital and DTS using a receiver with Dolby Digital and DTS decoding capabilities and an optical digital input. Via HDMI output Make the connection as below, and set "Digital Out HDMI" ( page 55). Caution
When you are connecting (via the DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT BITSTREAM/PCM jack) an AV decoder that does not
have Dolby Digital, DTS or MPEG decoding capability, be sure to set “Digital Out SPDIF” (
page 55) to “PCM”.
Otherwise, high volume sound may damage your hearing as well as the speakers.
Via HDMI output
You can enjoy the benefits of Dolby Digital Plus or Dolby TrueHD by connecting the HDMI output of your player
to an AV receiver with an HDMI audio input. You can listen to down-converted Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby
