Operating Basics Connecting To connect the modem cable, follow the steps below. n The modular cable that comes with the computer must be used to connect a modem. Connect the end of the modular cable with the core to the computer. n In case of a lightning storm, unplug the modem cable from the telephone jack. n Do not connect the modem to a digital telephone line.
