Start All apps The word "Start" refers to the " " button in the lower-left corner of the screen. You can find a list of all your apps and programs in the All apps. To access it, click Start and select All apps ( ) in the lower-left corner. It is intended to help you be more comfortable and productive while using a notebook computer. By following the recommendations in it, you can reduce your chance of developing a painful or disabling injury to your hand, arms, shoulders, or neck. This section provides basic information to start using your computer. It covers the following topics: Connecting the AC adaptor Opening the display Turning on the power Initial setup Getting to know Windows Use a virus-check program and make sure that it is updated regularly. Never format storage media without checking its content - formatting destroys all stored data. It is a good idea to back up the internal storage drive or other main storage device to external media periodically. General storage media is not durable or stable over long periods of time and under certain conditions might result in data loss. Before you install a device or application, save any data in memory to the internal storage drive or other storage media. Failure to do so might result in data loss. Connecting the AC adaptor Attach the AC adaptor when you want to charge the battery or operate from AC power. The battery pack must be charged before you can operate from battery power. The AC adaptor can automatically adjust to any voltage ranging from 100 volts to 240 volts and to a frequency of either 50 hertz or 60 hertz, enabling you to use this computer in almost any country/region.
