Record Mode 29 Using the Zoom function Using the Zoom function The Zoom function magnifies images when recording Videos or taking Photos. ❖ Press the Tele/Wide (T/W) buttons to zoom IN/OUT. The camcorder zooms in by Optical Zoom first. When the Optical Zoom factor is at maximum, zooming stops temporarily. Press and hold the Tele (T) button when you want to zoom in beyond the Optical Zoom range. The Digital Zoom is activated and zooming continues. ❖ The Zoom function can be set from 1x~720x (12x Optical Zoom and 60x Digital Zoom). Using the Advanced Zoom function In addition to the 12x Optical Zoom range, the advanced sensor increases the 12x Optical Zoom to the higher Advanced Zoom. Advanced Zoom obtains a larger zoom range without deterioration of video quality. ❖ When recording a video, touch the onscreen icon to activate Advanced Zoom. 1 The magnification is approximately 1.66 times and the lens is enhanced to 20x Advanced Zoom. 2 When recording video, press the Tele/Wide button and it can be set from 1x~1200x (20x Advanced Zoom, 60x Digital Zoom) 60p 1 The magnification is approximately 1.25 times and the lens is enhanced to be 15x Advanced Zoom. 30p 2 When recording video, press the Tele/Wide button and it can be set from 1x~900x (15x Advanced Zoom, 60x Digital Zoom) Normal 12x Optical Zoom Advanced Zoom (Sample Image) Advanced Zoom function settings NOTE Advanced Zoom is only available for video recording.
