11. System Management Note: With firmware version 3.2.0, the time zone can also be set to UCT, which replaced Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) as the world standard for time. Configuring NTP ensures the Tripp Lite device's clock is accurate (once Internet connection has been established). • Select the Enable NTP checkbox in the Network Time Protocol section of the System: Date & Time page. • Enter the IP address of the remote NTP Server. • If your external NTP server requires authentication, specify the NTP Authentication Key and the Key Index to use when authenticating with the NTP server. • Click Apply NTP Settings. If remote NTP is not used, the time can be set manually: • Enter the Year, Month, Day, Hour and Minute using the Date and Time selection boxes. • Check Set Time. Notes: • All Tripp Lite devices have an internal battery-backed hardware clock. When the time and date is set manually through the management console or retrieved from an NTP server, the hardware clock of the Tripp Lite device is automatically updated. The hardware clock uses a battery to allow the current time and date to be maintained across reboots and after the appliance has been powered down for longer periods. • With the NTP peering model, the Tripp Lite device can share its time information with other devices connected to it so all devices can be time synchronized. To do this, click Enable NTP on the Time and Date page and ensure the appropriate networks are selected on the Service Access tab under System: Services. 199
