Using the Menus The menus are designed to be as easy as possible. Some users don't even need the manual once they know how to perform these actions: Open the menu Move the cursor Select an option Go back to the previous screen Close the menu Press Select/menu. The arrow cursor on the left side of the line shows which menu item is currently highlighted. Use Up to move the cursor up and Down to move it down. Move the cursor to highlight the option, then press Select/menu. Press Phonebook/left. - On the handset, press Flash/exit. - On the base, press Play/stop. If you don't press any keys for thirty seconds, the phone times out and exits the menu. (When setting the day and time, the time-out period is extended to two minutes.) Using the handset menus To open the menu, press SELECT/MENU. To select the Handset Setup highlighted option, press Ans. Setup SELECT/ MENU. Day & Time OR Global Setup To close the Use UP and DOWN to move the cursor. menu, press FLASH/EXIT. Using the base menus To open the menu, press SELECT/MENU. Base Setup To select the highlighted Ans. Setup Day & Time option, press SELECT/ MENU. Global Setup OR RegisterHandset Use UP and DOWN to move the cursor. To close the menu, press PLAY/STOP The Handset Setup Menu You have to change these settings separately for each cordless handset. T-coil Ringer Tones Turn on T-coil mode to reduce noise on certain hearing aids (see "Do you have a T-coil hearing aid?" on page 28). Choose one of two melodies or five tones for the handset's main ring tone. As you highlight each ring tone, the phone plays a sample of the tone. When you hear the tone you want, press Select/menu. 10
