Selecting a Location Before choosing a location for your new phone, read the INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS included in the PRECAUTIONS AND WARRANT Y INFORMATION brochure. Here are some important guidelines you should consider: Avoid heat sources such as radiators, air ducts, and sunlight Avoid noise sources such as a window by a street with heavy traffic Avoid television sets and other electronic equipment Avoid microwave ovens Avoid excessive moisture, extremely low temperatures, dust, mechanical vibration, or shock A continuous power outlet is an AC outlet which does not have a switch to interrupt its power. I N S TA L L AT I O N Avoid personal computers Choose a central location Avoid other cordless telephones • The location should be close to both a phone jack and continuous power outlet. • Keep the base unit and handset away from sources of electrical noise such as microwave ovens, motors, or fluorescent lighting. • Be sure there is sufficient space to rotate the base unit antenna to a vertical position. • After installing the battery pack in the handset, you should charge your handset for 15 hours before using the phone. Once the handset battery pack is fully charged, connect the telephone line cord to the base and telephone wall outlet.
