AV Bridge AV Bridge Release Notes - Version 2.1.0 Component Database Middleware FPGA PIC (micro) Version 2.1.0 2.0.0 AV_Bridge_12/11/2013 V01.00.07 New Features and Functions  Improved USB Video Performance: This release includes an optimized down-scaler for standard definition progressive resolutions (480p, 360p & 180p) on the USB stream. This results in improved video image when Unified Communication (UC) soft-client requests lower SD resolutions from the AV Bridge via the USB.  New EDID Capabilities: The EDID table for the HDMI input has been modified to support a wider range on the input source device. The new EDID table sets 1080p as preferred resolution during the negotiation.  Video Mute Pattern Feature: An option in the AV Bridge's configuration web pages has been added allowing the administrator to set a Video Mute Pattern as either color bars or black screen.  HID Audio Configuration Option: A HID (Human Interface Device) option has been added associated with USB audio controls. The administrator has the ability to enable or disable USB HID controls for the audio input gain settings. When disabled, the Host PC does not have the ability to modify the audio input levels on the AV Bridge. This feature can be used to set a fixed gain on the AV Bridge audio input when interfacing to a professional audio system and prevents the PC from overriding the gain. PC control of the Mute function is maintained when HID audio gain controls are disabled.  USB Friendly Name Feature: A new feature has been added to the USB functions. An administrator has the ability to set a unique name for the AV Bridge image device. This unique name will show up in the PC operating system as a USB imaging device. Feature basically allows you to define your own "camera name" for the PC.  Front Panel Streaming Selection: The front panel menu system has added the ability to select USB or IP streaming without having to set the streaming preference on the AV Bridge's internal web server. New Fixes  Mac OS 10.8.X and 10.9 Compatibility: This release fixed an USB video streaming compatibly issue with Mac's Mountain Lion and Maverick operating system. In release 2.0.0, the USB video stream could stop or freeze when a software application requested video resolution changes on Mac's running Mountain Lion or Maverick operating systems. Release 2.1.0 fixes the interoperability problem and will no longer freeze or stop.  Audio Mute Problem: This release fixes a bug with the USB Human Interface Device (HID) audio mute controls. A customer reported issue had the AV Bridge's microphone mute function randomly changing during operations. The root cause of issue was related to PC's USB handshaking with AV Bridge when exiting sleep mode or on first connection to the specific PC. This handshake includes a toggle function of the microphone mute, which produced erratic results. A fix was implemented to retain the local mute state on the AV Bridge when PC goes to sleep or on the initial connection, resolving the randomly wicked-awful microphone mute behavior.  Disconnecting the PC with USB Streaming Active: This release fixes an issue associated with USB streaming. Specifically, if the USB connector is unplugged from PC when video stream is active, the device would have to be reset (power cycled) in order for the USB video stream to work for the next connection. Known Issues  N/A Interoperability Testing & Findings  Same as previous release Backward Compatibility:  Software Release cannot be downgraded once 2.1.0 is loaded. New Features and Functions
Improved USB Video Performance:
This release includes an optimized down-scaler for standard definition
progressive resolutions (480p, 360p & 180p) on the USB stream.
This results in improved video image when Unified
Communication (UC) soft-client requests lower SD resolutions from the AV Bridge via the USB.
New EDID Capabilities:
The EDID table for the HDMI input has been modified to support a wider range on the input
source device.
The new EDID table sets 1080p as preferred resolution during the negotiation.
Video Mute Pattern Feature:
An option in the AV Bridge’s configuration web pages has been added allowing the
administrator to set a Video Mute Pattern as either color bars or black screen.
HID Audio Configuration Option:
A HID (Human Interface Device) option has been added associated with USB
audio controls.
The administrator has the ability to enable or disable USB HID controls for the audio input gain
settings.
When disabled, the Host PC does not have the ability to modify the audio input levels on the AV Bridge.
This feature can be used to set a fixed gain on the AV Bridge audio input when interfacing to a professional audio
system and prevents the PC from overriding the gain.
PC control of the Mute function is maintained when HID audio
gain controls are disabled.
USB Friendly Name Feature:
A new feature has been added to the USB functions.
An administrator has the ability
to set a unique name for the AV Bridge image device.
This unique name will show up in the PC operating system as
a USB imaging device.
Feature basically allows you to define your own “camera name” for the PC.
Front Panel Streaming Selection:
The front panel menu system has added the ability to select USB or IP streaming
without having to set the streaming preference on the AV Bridge’s internal web server.
New Fixes
Mac OS 10.8.X and 10.9 Compatibility:
This release fixed an USB video streaming compatibly issue with Mac’s
Mountain Lion and Maverick operating system.
In release 2.0.0, the USB video stream could stop or freeze when a
software application requested video resolution changes on Mac’s running Mountain Lion or Maverick operating
systems.
Release 2.1.0 fixes the interoperability problem and will no longer freeze or stop.
Audio Mute Problem:
This release fixes a bug with the USB Human Interface Device (HID) audio mute controls. A
customer reported issue had the AV Bridge’s microphone mute function randomly changing during operations.
The
root cause of issue was related to PC’s USB handshaking with AV Bridge when exiting sleep mode or on first
connection to the specific PC.
This handshake includes a toggle function of the microphone mute, which produced
erratic results.
A fix was implemented to retain the local mute state on the AV Bridge when PC goes to sleep or on
the initial connection, resolving the randomly wicked-awful microphone mute behavior.
Disconnecting the PC with USB Streaming Active:
This release fixes an issue associated with USB streaming.
Specifically, if the USB connector is unplugged from PC when video stream is active, the device would have to be
reset (power cycled) in order for the USB video stream to work for the next connection.
