298 Chapter 6 - Production Printing Downloading Fonts Using the Fontdownloader for Macintosh Networks The Fontdownloader is a driver provided for Macintosh networks and enables you to download fonts from a Macintosh client workstation. The Fontdownloader functions as a communications port and sends messages between the Fontdownloader program and the Spire CXP8000 color server. You cannot send files through the Fontdownloader, only fonts. To download fonts using the Fontdownloader driver (Mac OS 9.X): Note: Mac OS 10.X users that want to download fonts need to use a previous Mac OS version-for example, Mac OS 9.X. It is recommended that you embed the fonts in the file. 1. From the Apple menu, select Chooser. 2. Select AppleShare and browse the network to where the Spire CXP8000 color server is configured. 3. Select the Spire CXP8000 color server-for example, CXP8000-and then click OK. The Login dialog box appears. 4. Log in as Guest and click the Connect button. The corresponding Spire CXP8000 color server window appears.
