Before You Play ■ Tuning Slide the main tuning slide in or out to tune the instrument. Since changes in temperature can have an effect on the pitch, blow some warm air into the instrument to warm it up before tuning. Trumpet/Rotary Trumpet Slide the main tuning slide in or out to tune the instrument.
