Using the MusicCAST with a YAMAHA AV receiver [ Automatically adjusting YAMAHA AV receiver surround program effect settings for a genre You can set the MusicCAST receiver to automatically change the YAMAHA SURROUND PROGRAMS on a YAMAHA AV receiver for each genre it plays back. This allows you to choose the setting that most suits a specific genre. YAMAHA SURROUND PROGRAM settings only change if the MusicCAST server and YAMAHA AV receiver meet the following conditions: MusicCAST server: 1. The "Change surround program for each genre played" setting is enabled (see page 122 for more information). 2. The "AV Receiver - Audio connection settings" parameters are correctly set (see page 122 for more information). YAMAHA AV receiver: 1. The YAMAHA AV receiver is connected to the MusicCAST server via a cross-type RS-232C cable. 2. The YAMAHA AV receiver is power is turned on. 3. The AV receiver input is set to the input setting designated on the "AV Receiver - Audio Connection settings" screen of the MusicCAST server (see page 122). Carry out the following procedure to set a YAMAHA SURROUND PROGRAM effect for a genre. 1 Carry out the procedure described on page 67 to open the editing sub menu for the genre you wish to register a YAMAHA SURROUND PROGRAM to. Using the MusicCAST with a YAMAHA AV receiver 2 Set your YAMAHA AV receiver to the YAMAHA SURROUND PROGRAM you want to register to the genre (refer to the owner's manual of your AV receiver for an explanation on how to do this). 3 Use / to move the cursor to "Set program" and press SELECT. The property screen for the genre appears on the on-screen display, with the surround program you selected flashing. After 2 seconds, the display returns to the Genre screen. NOTE You can view the YAMAHA SURROUND PROGRAM assigned to a genre on the genre property screen. See page 56 for an explanation of how to display this screen. There may be a pause in playback between songs when the MCX-1000 is set to use Auto Leveling, or to change the YAMAHA SURROUND PROGRAM for each genre. 91

You can set the MusicCAST receiver to automatically change the YAMAHA SURROUND PROGRAMS on a
YAMAHA AV receiver for each genre it plays back. This allows you to choose the setting that most suits a specific
genre.
YAMAHA SURROUND PROGRAM settings only change if the MusicCAST server and YAMAHA AV receiver
meet the following conditions:
MusicCAST server:
