Wired networks use cables (called LAN cables or CAT-5 cables) connected between components to transfer data to a central network component (a network hub), which then transfers the data on to the appropriate destination. Installing a MusicCAST system using wired network connections requires more time and effort than using wireless connections, but a wired networks can carry more data over greater distance than wireless networks.
