BASIC OPERATION SLEEP TIMER Use this feature to automatically set this unit in standby mode after the amount of time you have set. The sleep timer is useful when you are going to sleep while this unit is playing or recording a source. The sleep timer also automatically turns off the external component(s) connected to AC OUTLET(S). The sleep timer can only be set with the remote control. y • By connecting a commercially available timer to this unit, you can also set a wake-up timer. Refer to the operation instructions of the timer. After a few seconds, "SLEEP OFF" disappears, the "SLEEP" indicator goes off and the display returns to the previous indication. SLEEP y • The sleep timer setting can also be canceled by setting this unit in standby mode by using STANDBY on the remote control (or STANDBY/ON on the front panel) or by disconnecting the AC power cord from the AC outlet. Use this feature to automatically set this unit in standby
mode after the amount of time you have set. The sleep
timer is useful when you are going to sleep while this unit
is playing or recording a source. The sleep timer also
automatically turns off the external component(s)
connected to AC OUTLET(S).
The sleep timer can only be set with the remote control.

By connecting a commercially available timer to this unit, you
can also set a wake-up timer. Refer to the operation
instructions of the timer.
Setting the sleep timer

Select a source and start playback on the
source component.

Press SLEEP repeatedly
to set the amount of time.
Each time you press SLEEP,
the front panel display changes
as shown below.

The “SLEEP” indicator lights up on the front
panel display soon after the sleep timer has
been set.
The display then returns to the previous indication.

Canceling the sleep timer
Press SLEEP repeatedly until “SLEEP OFF”
appears on the front panel display.
After a few seconds, “SLEEP OFF” disappears, the
“SLEEP” indicator goes off and the display returns
to the previous indication.

The sleep timer setting can also be canceled by setting this
unit in standby mode by using STANDBY on the remote
control (or STANDBY/ON on the front panel) or by
disconnecting the AC power cord from the AC outlet.
