Traction Control System Your vehicle has a traction control system that limits wheel spin. Thisis especially useful in slippery road conditions.The system operates only if it senses thatone or both the frontwheels are spinning or beginning to of lose traction. Whenthis happens, thesystem works the front brakes and reduces enginepower (by shutting off fuel injectors) to limit wheel spin. The TRACTION ACTIVEmessage will display on the Driver Information Centerwhen the traction control system is limiting wheel spin. See "Driver Information Center Messages" in the Index. You may feel the system working, or you may notice somenoise, but this is normal. If your vehicle is in cruise control when the traction controlsystem begins will to limit wheel spin, the cruise control automatically disengage. When road conditionsallow you to safely use it again, you may re-engage the in cruise control. (See "Cruise Control" the Index.) The TRACTION DISABLED message will display on the Driver with your traction Information Center to you know if there's a problem let control system. See "Driver Information Center Messages" in the Index. When this message is displayed, the system will not limit wheel spin. Adjust yourdriving accordingly.
