9. Fasten both halves of the chest clip below the child's shoulders and adjust it to comfortably hold the shoulder belts in place on the child's chest. The purpose of this clip is to position the shoulder belts correctly on the child's shoulders. The clip can be easily pulled apart, and is designed to pull apart during a collision. The clip helps keep the shoulder belts on the shoulders of a sleeping or squirming child. Refer to Figure 8. Figure 8: Securing the chest clip 10. Pull the shoulder belts out to ensure that the crotch safety belt buckle is securely fastened. Adjust the lap and shoulder belts by pulling firmly on the adjustment belt. Refer to Figure 9. 147
