Entertainment Systems Speaker balance adjust Speaker sound distribution can be adjusted between the right and left speakers. Press the BAL control then press: • • to shift sound to the left and to shift sound to the right. BAL FADE Speaker fade adjust Speaker sound can be adjusted between the front and rear speakers. Press the FADE control then press: • • to shift the sound to the front and to shift the sound to the rear. BAL FADE Tape/CD select • To begin tape play (with a tape loaded into the audio system) TAPE CD while in the radio or CD mode, press the TAPE control. Press again during rewind or fast forward to stop the rewind or fast forward function. • To begin CD play (if CD(s) are loaded), press the CD control. TAPE CD The first track of the disc will begin playing. If returning from radio or tape mode, CD play will begin where it stopped last. Press the CD control to toggle between single CD and CD changer play (if equipped). CD units are designed to play commercially pressed 12 cm (4.75 in) audio compact discs only. Due to technical incompatibility, certain recordable and re-recordable compact discs may not function correctly when used in Ford CD players. Irregular shaped CDs, CDs with a scratch protection film attached, and CDs with homemade paper (adhesive) labels should not be inserted 31
