Advanced BIOS Features The following screen shows the Advanced BIOS Features: The following table describes the parameters found in this menu. Settings in boldface are the default and suggested settings. Parameter CPU Feature Hard Disk Boot Priority CPU L1 & L2 Cache Hyper-Threading Technology Quick Power On Self Test First / Second / Third Boot Device Description Options The items allow you to set the Thermal Monitor Press [Enter] 1 (on die throttling) and the Thermal Monitor 2 (on ratio & VID transition). This option is used to select the priority for HDD startup. After pressing you can select the HDD using the / or Up/Down arrow keys, and change the HDD priority using or ; you can exit this menu by pressing . Press [Enter] Uses internal level 1 (L1) and external level 2 (L2) cache memory to improve performance. Enabled Disabled This item is only available when CPU and the chipset support Hyper-Threading. Enabled Disabled This parameter speeds up POST by skipping some items that are normally checked. Enabled Disabled The items allow you to set the sequence of boot device where BIOS attempts to load the disk operating system. Floppy, LS120, HDD-0, SCSI, CDROM, HDD-1, HDD-2, HDD-3, ZIP, LAN, Disabled (Disable this sequence). The sequence following the order of HDD, Floppy and CD-ROM is recommended. Chapter 2 23
