3 Formatting a Memory Card Formatting a memory card will erase all the data in the card, including protected images. Before formatting a card, make sure there is nothing you need to keep. If necessary, transfer the images to a personal computer before formatting the card. 1 Select [Format]. Select the tab. Hold down the button and turn the dial to select [Format]. Then let go of the button. 2 Select the card to be formatted. [Card1] is the CF card, and [Card2] is the SD card. Hold down the button and turn the dial to select the card. Then let go of the button. X A confirmation dialog will appear. 3 Select [OK]. If [Card2] for the SD card is selected, low-level formatting is possible (p.134). Hold down the button and turn the dial to select [OK]. Then let go of the button. X The memory card will be formatted. When it is completed, the menu will reappear. A non-Canon memory card or a card formatted with another camera or personal computer might not work properly with the camera. If this happens, format the card with the camera first. Then it might work with the camera. 133

Formatting a memory card will erase all the data in the card,

Select the <

Formatting a Memory Card
A non-Canon memory card or a card formatted with another camera or
personal computer might not work properly with the camera. If this happens,
format the card with the camera first. Then it might work with the camera.
