3 Custom White Balance With custom white balance, you shoot a white object that will serve as the basis for the white balance setting. By selecting this image, you import its white balance data for the white balance setting. 1 Photograph a white object. Make sure the plain, white subject fills the entire center spot metering circle. Set the lens focus mode switch to , then focus manually. (p.90) Set any white balance setting. (p.64) Shoot the white object so that a standard exposure is obtained. If it is underexposed or overexposed, a correct white balance setting might not be obtained. 2 Select [Custom WB]. Select the tab. Hold down the button and turn the dial to select [Custom WB]. Then let go of the button. X The 9-image index display will appear. 3 Select the image. Hold down the button and turn the dial to select the image you shot in step 1. Then let go of the button. 65
