Setting the white balance manually will probably work better E than auto white balance when shooting: Subjects with one dominant color, such as sky, sea or forest. Notes: • Turn the digital zoom off (if neccessary) to set a more accurate white balance. • If the lighting conditions change, reset the white balance by first returning to the AUTO setting, and then reselecting SET. • Try to record with light from a single source. Correct white balance cannot be obtained for two types of lighting at once. • You cannot set the white balance manually when the program selector is set to the [ (Easy Recording) program. • When the program selector is set to the [ (Easy Recording) program or the POWER switch is set to the OFF position, the white balance setting returns to the AUTO. • When the standby lever is set to LOCK without changing the program selector, the current white balance setting remains in the memory (except in the NegativePositive Conversion program). 50 Using the Full Range of Features
