Checking the Battery Level Check the battery level after replacing the batteries and before using the camera. Turn the Command Dial to a shooting mode. • The camera will then turn on and the LCD panel will display one of the following battery level icons: : Battery level OK. : The battery level is low. Keep spare batteries handy. : The batteries will soon be completely exhausted. : Replace the batteries. Take out the batteries and install correctly. (→page 14) • Pressing the shutter button halfway for a prolonged period or operating only the autofocus without taking a picture will still consume battery power.
