:Program AE Like the < > (Full Auto) mode, this is a general-purpose mode to make picture-taking easy. It sets the shutter speed and aperture automatically to suit the subject's brightness. ∗ "P" stands for Program. ∗ "AE" stands for auto exposure. 1 Turn the Command Dial to < >. 2 Press the shutter button halfway to focus. 3 Check the display. The shutter speed and aperture are set automatically and displayed in the viewfinder and on the LCD panel. • If the shutter speed and aperture do not blink, a correct exposure will be obtained. • If the shutter speed and aperture blink, see "Exposure Warning List" on page 53. 36
