Periodic Cleaning Your MultiPASS requires little periodic maintenance. This section describes the necessary cleaning procedures for your MultiPASS. Please note the following before cleaning your unit: • Be sure to disconnect the power cord before cleaning the MultiPASS. Since documents in memory are erased when the power is disconnected, print any documents stored in memory before disconnecting the power cord. (1 pp. 7-16, 8-14) • Do not use tissue paper, paper towels, or similar materials for cleaning; they can stick to the components or generate static charges. c Never use volatile liquids such as thinners, benzene, acetone, or any other chemical cleaner to clean the interior of the MultiPASS; these can damage the MultiPASS components. Cleaning the MultiPASS' Exterior Follow this procedure to clean the MultiPASS' outer casing: 1 Disconnect the power cord from the MultiPASS. 2 Wipe the MultiPASS' exterior with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth moistened with water or diluted dishwashing detergent solution. 3 When you are finished, reconnect the power cord. Cleaning the MultiPASS' Interior Cleaning Inside the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) To prevent ink spots and paper dust from accumulating inside the MultiPASS and affecting print quality, clean the unit's print area periodically. Periodic Cleaning
Your MultiPASS requires little periodic maintenance. This section describes the
necessary cleaning procedures for your MultiPASS. Please note the following before
cleaning your unit:
• Be sure to disconnect the power cord before cleaning the MultiPASS. Since
