98 Various Shooting Methods Selecting an AF Frame Mode See Functions Available in Each Shooting Mode (p. 222). Shooting Mode * Cannot be set in mode. The AF frame indicates the area of the composition on which the camera focuses. You can set the AF frame in the following ways. Face Detect Center You can have the camera automatically detect the position of a face and use this data to set the focus and exposure* while shooting. In addition, the camera will meter the subject so that the face is correctly illuminated when the flash fires. If a face is not detected, shooting will take place with [Center]. * Only in evaluative metering mode (p. 115). The camera fixes the AF frame at the center. This is convenient for making sure the focus is exactly where you want it. 1 Select [AF Frame]. 1. Press the button. 2. In the menu, use the or button to select [AF Frame]. 2 Accept the setting. 1.
