Symptom I can't get a connection between the printer and a computer. The printing operation is finished normally, but nothing is printed. The printed color is different from the ink ribbon color. Possible Cause The COMPUTER LINK button has not been pressed. The USB cabled is not connected properly. The printer is turned off. The USB driver is not installed correctly. Though the USB driver is installed correctly, data communication is not possible for some reason. The ink ribbon is used up. The color of the final printout is affected by both the color of the ink ribbon and the color of the disc you are printing on. Recommended Action Press the COMPUTER LINK button to establish a connection. Re-connect the cable properly. Press to turn on the printer. Unplug the USB cable and the plug it back in again. Try using a different USB port on your computer, or try using a different USB cable. Load a new ink ribbon cassette (option). (page 15) Try using a lighter color disc or a darker color ink ribbon. Symptom The printing is not positioned correctly on the disc. The disc stops part way through printing. I cannot insert a disc into the printer. Printing will not start. Possible Cause Improper alignment of the disc when it is placed in the printer. The power cord plug or the AC adaptor is not plugged in as far as it will go. The printer is malfunctioning. Battery power is low or the wrong type of batteries are loaded in the printer. The cassette cover is not closed properly. The disc is not positioned correctly in the printer. Recommended Action Use the positioning guide when aligning the disc. (page 22) Correctly connect the power cord and the AC adaptor. (page 9) If you cannot easily remove the disc from between the print head and roller, Remove the disc from the printer as shown on page 8. Use the AC adaptor to power the printer, or replace the current batteries with a fresh set of AA-size alkaline batteries. Close the cassette cover properly and insert the disc. (page 9) Remove the disc and then reinsert it straight into the left side of the slit along the top of the printer. (page 21) E 48
