Chapter 6 Configuring the System Configuring IGMP Filtering Applying IGMP Filters To control access as defined in an IGMP profile, you apply the profile to the appropriate interfaces. IGMP profiles can be applied to Layer 2 ports only. A profile can be applied to multiple interfaces, but each interface can only have one profile applied to it. Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to apply an IGMP profile to a switch port: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Command Purpose configure terminal Enter global configuration mode. interface interface-id Enter interface configuration mode, and enter the physical interface to configure, for example fastethernet 0/3. The interface must be a Layer 2 port. ip igmp filter profile number Apply the specified IGMP filter profile to the interface. The profile number can be from 1 to 4294967295. end Return to privileged EXEC mode. show running configuration interface interface-id Verify the configuration. copy running-config startup-config (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file. To remove a filter profile from an interface, use the no ip igmp filter profile number interface configuration command. This example shows how to apply IGMP profile 22 to an interface and verify the configuration.
