Evaluating and Implementing Compaq Data Center Solutions for Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server 13 Availability Review Using the same method as the Availability Assessment, this service goes further, analyzing the entire IT environment in greater depth. The consultant determines the cost of downtime per system. Customers gain a thorough understanding of their environment to eliminate downtime risks. Availability Review also provides the cost justification data needed to budget technology and service investments based on the revenue impact of their systems. Availability Partnership Compaq works closely with the customer over time to develop and implement a fully customized plan for maintaining their target availability levels and ensuring uninterrupted computing. The service includes assessing and managing planned and unplanned change, such as migrations, upgrades, business growth, or mergers. We achieve this with careful contingency planning as well as availability monitoring that uses advanced tools and techniques. Through the Availability Partnership, we can work with customers to put an uptime guarantee in place for their Windows 2000 Datacenter solution. Uptime Guarantee for Windows 2000 Datacenter Compaq offers guarantees of up to 99.99% Uptime for a Windows 2000 Datacenter clustered configuration on a certified Compaq ProLiant platform. Uptime, defined as the availability of the core Windows 2000 Datacenter system to run applications, is achieved through an ongoing partnership with Compaq: − We recommend a specific Windows 2000 Datacenter cluster configuration. − The customer is required to have high-availability services in place: Windows 2000 Data Center Enterprise Support Plan, 24x7; Availability Review; Availability Partnership; and Installation and Startup Service. − The customer implements Compaq-specified serviceability actions as well as recommendations for reducing risk. − There may be other requirements based on local review. The customer pays only for the prerequisite services. There is no additional charge for the Uptime Guarantee.
