Select the channel that is the same as the other wireless devices on your network. Select between None, WEP, or WPA_PSK. None means that no encryption will be set on the DCS-950G.WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) will set encryption from 64 to 128 bits. If the security mode is set to WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access with preshared key), the pre-shared key field must be filled. Choose between Open or Shared Authentication. Open Authentication communicates the key across the network. Shared Authentication allows communication only with other devices with identical WEP settings. In WEP mode, you can select between 64-bit, 128-bit, and TKIP mode. Both PSK and TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) will support up to 256-bit encryption. Select an ASCII or hexadecimal key format. Select the key to use as the default. You can create up to 4 different security keys. Using the Configuration Menu
The
default
wireless channel setting is channel 6. Select the
channel that is the same as the other wireless devices on your
network.
