First, connect the system and APC UPS via RS-232 for communication. Then set up the shutdown values (shutdown battery level %) when power is failed. UPS in other companies can work well, but they have no such communication feature with the system. (Figure 4.5.2.2: With Smart-UPS.) Figure 4.5.2.2 • UPS column description: UPS Type Shutdown Battery Level (%) Shutdown Delay (s) Shutdown UPS Status Select UPS Type. Choose Smart-UPS for APC, None for other vendors or no UPS. When below the setting level, system will shutdown. Setting level to "0" will disable UPS. If power failure occurs, and system power can not recover, the system will shutdown. Setting delay to "0" will disable the function. Select ON, when power is gone, UPS will shutdown by itself after the system shutdown successfully. After power comes back, UPS will start working and notify system to boot up. OFF will not. The status of UPS: "Detecting..."
