VD extension

To do migration, the total size of RG must be larger or equal to the original RG. It does not allow expanding the same RAID level with the same hard disks of original RG. The below operations are not allowed when a RG is being migrated. System would reject these operations: 1. Add dedicated spare. 2. Remove a dedicated spare. 3. Create a new VD. 4. Delete a VD. 5. Extend a VD. 6. Scrub a VD. 7. Perform another migration operation. 8. Scrub entire RG. 9. Take a snapshot. 10. Delete a snapshot. 11. Expose a snapshot. 12. Rollback to a snapshot. Caution RG Migration cannot be executed during rebuilding or VD extension. 5.3 VD extension To extend VD size, please follow the procedures. 1. Select "/ Volume configuration / Virtual disk". 2. Check the gray button next to the VD number; click "Extend". 3. Change the size. The size must be larger than the original, and then click "OK" to start extension. Figure 5.3.1 4. Extension starts. If VD needs initialization, it will display an "Initiating" in "Status" and complete percentage of initialization in "R%". 83

VD extension
To extend VD size, please follow the procedures.
1.
Select
“/ Volume configuration / Virtual disk”
.
2.
Check the gray button next to the VD number; click
“Extend”
.
3.
Change the size. The size must be larger than the original, and then click
“OK”
to
start extension.
