Removing the Battery WARNING: Before working inside your computer, read the safety information that shipped with your computer and follow the steps in "Before Working Inside Your Computer" on page 11. Procedure 1 Disconnect the battery cable from the system board. 2 Remove the screws that secure the battery to the computer base. 3 Using the battery cable, lift and release the battery from the tabs on the computer base. 2 1 3 4 1 battery cable 3 battery 2 screws (2) 4 tabs (2) 4 Turn the computer over and open the display. 5 Press and hold the power button for five seconds to ground the system board.
