Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 60. 2. Shut down the laptop and turn it over. 3. Loosen the eight captive screws and remove the base cover. 4. Remove the battery (see "Replacing the Battery Pack" on page 64). 5. Loosen the three captive screws that secure the hard-drive assembly to the computer base. 6. Using the pull-tab, lift the hard drive assembly to disconnect it from the system board connector. 7. Lift the hard-drive assembly away from the computer base. 70

Upgrading or Replacing the Hard Drive Assembly
Your laptop is equipped with one hard drive socket.
Removing the Hard Drive
1.
Follow the instructions in “Before You Begin” on page 60.
2.
Shut down the laptop and turn it over.
3.
Loosen the eight captive screws and remove the base cover.
4.
Remove the battery (see “Replacing the Battery Pack” on page 64).
5.
Loosen the three captive screws that secure the hard‑drive assembly to the computer
base.
6.
Using the pull‑tab, lift the hard drive assembly to disconnect it from the system board
connector.
7.
Lift the hard‑drive assembly away from the computer base.
