Procedure 1 Align the palm-rest assembly over the computer base. 2 Press down on the palm-rest assembly to snap it into place. 3 Slide the status-lights board cable, touchpad cable, touchpad status-light cable, and the hot-key board cable into the connectors on the system board and press down on the connector latches to secure the cables. 4 Replace the screws that secure the palm-rest assembly to the system board. 5 Close the display and turn the computer over. 6 Replace the screws that secure the palm-rest assembly to the computer base. 7 Replace the rubber screw caps that cover the screws on the computer base. Postrequisites 1 Replace the keyboard. See "Replacing the Keyboard" on page 23. 2 Replace the optical drive. See "Replacing the Optical-Drive Assembly" on page 17. 3 Replace the memory module(s). Procedure
1
Align the palm-rest assembly over the computer base.
2
Press down on the palm-rest assembly to snap it into place.
3
Slide the status-lights board cable, touchpad cable, touchpad status-light cable,
and the hot-key board cable into the connectors on the system board and press
down on the connector latches to secure the cables.
4
Replace the screws that secure the palm-rest assembly to the system board.

Close the display and turn the computer over.
6
Replace the screws that secure the palm-rest assembly to the computer base.
7
Replace the rubber screw caps that cover the screws on the computer base.
Postrequisites
1
Replace the keyboard. See "Replacing the Keyboard" on page 23.

Replace the optical drive.

Replace the memory module(s).
