Replacing the Processor Heat-Sink Procedure NOTE: The original thermal grease can be reused, if the original system board and heat sink are reinstalled together. If either the system board or the heat sink is replaced, use the thermal pad provided in the kit to ensure that thermal conductivity is achieved. 1 Clean the thermal grease from the bottom of the processor heat-sink and reapply it. 2 Align the screw holes on the processor heat-sink with the screw holes on the system board. 3 In sequential order (indicated on the processor heat-sink), tighten the captive screws that secure the processor heat-sink to the system board. 4 Replace the screw that secures the processor heat-sink to the chassis. 5 Adhere the aluminum foil on the processor heat-sink over the processor heat-sink fan. Postrequisites 1 Replace the system-board shield. See "Replacing the System-Board Shield" on page 51. 2 Replace the VESA-mount bracket. See "Replacing the VESA-Mount Bracket" on page 44. 3 Replace the back cover. See "Replacing the Back Cover" on page 24. 4 Replace the stand. Replacing the Processor Heat-Sink
Procedure
NOTE:
The original thermal grease can be reused, if the original system board
and heat sink are reinstalled together. If either the system board or the heat sink
is replaced, use the thermal pad provided in the kit to ensure that thermal
conductivity is achieved.

Clean the thermal grease from the bottom of the processor heat-sink
and reapply it.

Align the screw holes on the processor heat-sink with the screw holes on
the system board.

In sequential order (indicated on the processor heat-sink), tighten the
captive screws that secure the processor heat-sink to the system board.

Replace the screw that secures the processor heat-sink to the chassis.

Adhere the aluminum foil on the processor heat-sink over the
processor heat-sink fan.

Replace the system-board shield.
