Playback Item Description Noise Reduces the noise of the Reduction playback picture. Adjustment range (*:default) Off* +1: Execute MPEG noise reduction witch reduce the block noise and mosquito noise on the subtitle on movie. +2: Execute 3D noise reduction witch detect and delete the noise by comparing each picture frames. +3: Execute both MPEG noise reduction and 3D noise reduction. Note • The setting remains even you turn off the unit. • You cannot adjust the setting during the dialog speed playback. • For BD, noise reduction is not effective. ENGLISH Virtual Surround Setting the BD Audio Mode Playback BD-V DVD-V DVD-VR You can enjoy stereo phonic virtual space through your existing 2-channel stereo system. 1) In stop mode, press [MODE] repeatedly until the virtual surround setting appears. BD-V BD audio mode is to choose between two ways; you could output the secondary and interactive audio accompanied by the primary audio or you could output the primary audio only. Depending on the setting of the mode, Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, or DTS-HD output changes between multi LPCM and bitstream. Off 2) Use [U / V] to select "1" (Natural effect), "2" (Emphasized effect) or "Off". 3) Press [RETURN] to exit. Note • Select virtual surround "Off" or lower the volume if the sound is distorted. • This function cannot be used during dialog speed (refer to page 15). • For the virtual surround, audio signal will always be 2-channel LPCM. Pure Direct Mode By selecting the pure direct mode, you can shut down the circuitry of the front panel. 1) Press [PURE DIRECT] repeatedly to select your desired pure direct mode. • Each time you press [PURE DIRECT], the pure direct mode changes as "Normal" A "Display Off" A "Normal". The modes will be displayed on the front panel display. "Normal" : Pure direct mode is off. 1) In stop mode with BD inserted, press [MODE]. 2) Use [U / V] to select desired setting. BD Audio Mode "Mix Audio Output" : The Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD format will be converted to Multi LPCM. If it is available, secondary and interactive audio it will be output with primary audio. "HD Audio Output" : Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, or DTS-HD will be output in a full stream. Please refer to page 11 for output audio signals. In this mode secondary or interactive audio will not be output. • The secondary audio is the audio for the sub picture (Director's comment etc.) and the interactive audio is the audio for the interactive application (Button click sounds etc.). 3) Press [RETURN] to exit. • You can also set the BD Audio Mode from the setup menu. Refer to page 30. [PURE DIRECT] "Display Off" : Front panel display will be turned off. Note • The "Display Off" mode goes back to "Normal" mode if you turn off this unit. 22 ENGLISH
