2-4-1 Using 'Cable Modem' as broadband connection type If your Internet service provider uses cable modem to provide Internet service to you, you can select this connection type. You can also select this connection type if your ISP tells you that they will assign you the IP address by 'DHCP' (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). Here are descriptions of every setup items: Item Name Host Name MAC address TTL Description Please input the host name of your computer, this is optional, and only required if your service provider asks you to do so. Please input MAC address of your computer here, if your service provider only permits computer with certain MAC address to access internet. If you're using the computer which used to connect to Internet via cable modem, you can simply press 'Clone Mac address' button to fill the MAC address field with the MAC address of your computer. 2-4-1 Using ‘Cable Modem’ as broadband connection type
If your Internet service provider uses cable modem to provide Internet
service to you, you can select this connection type. You can also select
this connection type if your ISP tells you that they will assign you the IP
address by ’DHCP’ (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol).
Here are descriptions of every setup items:

Host Name
Please input the host name of your computer,
this is optional, and only required if your
service provider asks you to do so.
MAC address
Please input MAC address of your computer
here, if your service provider only permits
computer with certain MAC address to access
internet. If you’re using the computer which
used to connect to Internet via cable modem,
you can simply press ‘Clone Mac address’
button to fill the MAC address field with the
MAC address of your computer.
TTL
Time-to-live (TTL) is a value in an Internet
Protocol packet that tells a network router
whether or not the packet has been in the
network too long and should be discarded.
