BEFORE SETTING SURFACE CONTROLS Install burner grates Using Proper Cookware To install burner grates, place the grates flat-side down and align them into the cooktop recess. The size and type of cookware used will influence the heat setting needed for best cooking results. Be sure to follow the recommendations for using proper cookware as illustrated in Figure 5 and Figure 6. Figure 5: Testing cookware Figure 4: Proper grate installation Check for flatness by rotating a ruler across the bottom of the cookware (See Figure 5). Cookware should have flat bottoms that make good contact with the entire surface heating element (See Figure 6). The oven door will remain locked until the oven has cooled down below cleaning temperature. If the oven is below cleaning temperature, the user can start another clean cycle immediately. If the oven is in cleaning temperature range, another self-clean cycle can be set once the door unlocks (up to 4 hours). • Flat bottom and straight sides. • Tight fitting lids. • Weight of handle does not tilt pan.
