Matters Needing Attention Safety The tumble dryer is intended only for drying textile material washed in water . To minimize the risk of fire in a tumble dryer , the following should be observed: -Items that have been spotted or soaked with vegetable or cooking oil constitute a fire hazard and should not be placed in a tumble dryer. -Items that have been previously cleaned in , washed in , soaked in or spotted with petrol/gasoline , dry-cleaned solvents or other flammable or explosive substances should not be placed in a tumble dryer. -Highly flammable substances commonity used in domestic environments include acetone , denatured alcohol , petrol/ gasline , kerosene , spot removers (some brands), turpentine, waxes and wax removers. -Items containing foam rubber (also known as latex foam) or similarly textured rubber . Like materials should not be dried in a tumble dryer on a heat setting . Foam rubber material can, when heated , produce fire by spontaneous combustion. -Fabric softeners or sinilar products should not be used in a tumble dryer to eliminate the effects of static electricity unless this practice is specifically recommended by the manufacturer of the fabric softener or product. -Undergarments that contain metal reinforcements should not be placed in a tumble dryer . Damage to the tumble dryer can result if metal reinforcements come loose during drying . When available a drying rack could be used for such items. -Plastic articles such as shower caps or babies waterproof napkin covers should not be placed in a tumble dryer. -Rubber-backed articles , clothes fitted with foam rubber pads, pillows , galoshes and rubber-coated tennis shoes should not be placed in a tumble dryer. 4 Maintenance 1. Turn of the water and electricity supply after every wash. Open the door to prevent the formation of moisture and odors. If the washing machine is left idle for a long period, drain any remaining water in the machine and replace the drainage hose. 2. Unplug the machine during cleaning and maintenance. Use a soft cloth dampened with soapy liquid to clean the machine case and rubber components. Do not use corrosive or abrasive chemicals or solvents. 3. Clean the detergent compartment regularly. For the detergent compartment similar to figure (a), raise the compartment slightly to remove and replace after cleaning. 1 V 4. Cleaning the Filter (once a month) Press the lower edge of the filter compartmenl cover to open; (Fig1-2) Remove the filter by turning counterclockwise; (Fig3) Flash clean with running water; Filter replacement is the reverse of removal. Caution: Attention shall be paid to ensure thai the filter is replaced correctly to avoid possible leakage. V 2 Fig (a) 5. To prevent blockages to the water supply or the ingress of contaminants, clean the water inlet and inlet water filter regularly. 7.
