KNOW YOUR PROCESSOR Food Pusher 417 Food Chute Cover with interlocking mechanism S-Blade Bowl Center Shaft Base Reversible Slicingl Shredding Disc Disc Shaft HOW TO ASSEMBLE AND OPERATE BEFORE FIRST USE: Wash the bowl, cover, food pusher, disc shaft, blade and slicing/shredding disc in hot soapy water. Blade and disc are sharp, handle carefully. Rinse and dry thoroughly. 1. Make sure unit is switched to OFF and unplugged from electrical outlet. 2. Place base on clean, dry, level surface. 3. Place bowl on base. Turn the bowl clockwise until it locks into place. 4. To use the S-blade: Place S-blade onto the center shaft in the center of the bowl. The blade is sharp, handle carefully. When using the blade to chop firm vegetables, meats & cheeses, the unit must be fully assembled with cover locked securely in place. Plug processor into electrical outlet. Turn unit On and drop food through food chute while blade is running. The S-blade must be in place prior to placing any food in bowl. 5. To use the slicing/shredding disc: Place disc shaft over the center shaft in bowl. Place the reversible slicing/ shredding disc onto top of shaft with the desired cutting edge facing up. 6. Place c bowl lining up the dot on the cover with the bowl handle. Rotate clockwise until the cover locks into place. The motor will not operate unless the cover interlocking mechanism is properly engaged. 7. The processor has a ON/OFF/PULSE three position rocker switch. Push the switch to ON for continuous operation. Push the switch to PULSE and release to turn the processor off. The PULSE position will operate the unit only as long as the switch is held in that position. When the PULSE position is released the unit will automatically turn OFF. 8. Once processing is complete make sure blade or disc has come to a complete stop before removing cover. Unplug processor from electrical outlet before inserting or removing parts. PROCESSING TIPS When processing liquid mixtures or batters with the S-blade attachment do not fill over the 31/2 cup marking. The S-blade attachment can perform a variety of food )reparation functions. The final consistency of the food will depend upon the processing technique (continuous or pulse) and the length of processing time. When chopping hard foods with the S-blade please use the following method. Cut food into 1-inch chunks. (Parmesan cheese, 1/2-inch chunks.) Fully assemble food processor. Turn processor ON. Drop chunks, one at a time, through food chute while processor is running. When using the S blade to process Parmesan cheese, cut c'ieese into 1/2-inch chunks and do not process more than 4 c inces at one time.
