Clearing scanner jams Occasionally, paper becomes jammed during a scan or copy job. Some of the causes include the following: q The paper input trays are loaded improperly. See "Loading Copier/Scanner originals." q The original is too small or large to be correctly fed through the scanner. See "Supported paper sizes and types (media)." q The original exceeds the maximum page length. See "Supported paper sizes and types (media)." q Media that does not meet HP specifications is used.
