Workaround: If you do not wish to restore Syslog information along with Network Properties, perform changes manually using QuickTools or the CLI. • Issue: When the Configuration Wizard dialog is chosen to change the IP address of the switch and the change is applied, it appears to the user that the change is made successfully. However, connection to the switch using the new IP address will fail because the address was not actually changed. Other Configuration Wizard changes such as the admin password are applied correctly. Workaround: Reconnect to the switch using the old IP address (and new admin password if necessary) and select the Switch -> Network Properties dialog to make the IP address change. Determining the current firmware version This section describes how to determine the current firmware version for the 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch using SSCM, QuickTools, and the CLI. Using the SSCM To determine the current version of firmware using the SSCM: 1. Access the switch properties, using one of the following options: • On the HBA & Switch Management menu, click Get Switch Properties. If there is only one switch, it is automatically selected; continue with Step 3. If there is more than one switch, the Switch Selection dialog box opens; continue with Step 2. • On the content pane's Physical Connection map, right-click the switch icon and on the shortcut menu, click Get Switch Properties. 2. In the Switch Selection dialog box, select the switch you want to view. 3. After viewing the switch properties, click OK to close the dialog box. Using QuickTools To determine the current version of firmware using QuickTools: 1. Log in to the 8/20q Fibre Channel Switch through a web browser using the switch IP address. 2. Click the switch in the fabric tree displayed in the left panel. 3. Select the Switch tab at the bottom of the faceplate display. 4. Click the Firmware button on the left side of the display. The firmware version appears in the data window. Using the CLI To determine the current version of firmware using the CLI: 1.
