Background toner particles If the amount of background particles becomes unacceptable, the following procedures might help to clear the condition: ● Increase the toner density setting. This decreases the amount of background particles. ● Change the paper to a lighter basis weight. ● Check the printer's environment. Very dry (low humidity) conditions can increase the amount of background particles. Dropouts If faded-out areas or character voids (partial print) occur randomly on the page: ● The moisture content of the paper might be uneven, or the paper might have moist spots on its surface as a result of environmental humidity.
