TROUBLESHOOTING Symptom Engine will not start User error Fuel system Cause Fuel valve closed. No spark after checking spark plug Faulty engine switch, cable or ignition. Low compression Serious interior engine damage or faulty valves. Engine is under-powered or runs unevenly Air filter Clogged air filter Fuel system Machine stored without observing proper procedure from chapter "Storage/Winter storage" Blue or voluminous blue-white exhaust Contaminated or incorrect fuel Black exhaust Choke left on Clogged air filter Carburetor problems Ignition system Wrong spark plug type Build-up on electrodes.
