Invacare ® Veranda™ 3000/4000 5.8 Replacing Rear Wheel Handrim WARNING! - If the wheelchair is equipped with permanent axles, this procedure MUST be performed by a qualified technician. 1. Remove the rear wheel A from the wheelchair. 5.7 Removing/Installing the Rear Wheels, page 31. 2. Remove the mounting screws B that secure the handrim C to rear wheel. 3. Remove the existing handrim. 4. Secure the new handrim to the rear wheel with mounting screws. Tighten securely. 5. C A B 5.9 Replacing Front Fork/Caster WARNING! - Make sure both fork/caster assemblies are the same size before using the wheelchair, otherwise injury may occur. This procedure can be performed if replacing the exact same size front caster. 1. Remove the dust cover A. 2. Remove the locknut B and nylon washer C that secures the fork D to the caster headtube F. 3. Drop the fork assembly out of the caster headtube. If caster tire replacement is desired, refer to 5.11 Replacing Front Caster, page 33. 4. Slide the new fork assembly into the caster headtube. 5. Reassemble by reversing STEPS 1-3. 6. Repeat STEPS 1-6 for the opposite fork assembly. 7. Adjust the forks. Refer to 5.10 Adjusting Front Forks/Caster, page 33. A F B C D 32 1567855-C

Replacing Rear Wheel Handrim
WARNING!

If the wheelchair is equipped with permanent axles,
this procedure MUST be performed by a qualified

1.
Remove the rear wheel

from the wheelchair.

Remove the mounting screws

that secure the handrim

to rear wheel.
3.
Remove the existing handrim.
4.
Secure the new handrim to the rear wheel with mounting
screws. Tighten securely.
5.
Reinstall rear wheel to the wheelchair. 5.7 Removing/Installing
the Rear Wheels, page 31.

Replacing Front Fork/Caster
WARNING!
–
Make sure both fork/caster assemblies are the same
size before using the wheelchair, otherwise injury may
occur.
This procedure can be performed if replacing the exact same
size front caster.
1.
Remove the dust cover

3.
Drop the fork assembly out of the caster headtube.
If caster tire replacement is desired, refer to 5.11

4.
Slide the new fork assembly into the caster headtube.
5.
Reassemble by reversing STEPS 1-3.
6.
Repeat STEPS 1-6 for the opposite fork assembly.
7.
Adjust the forks. Refer to 5.10 Adjusting Front Forks/Caster,
page 33.
