Making DVD Voice Clear-CLEAR VOICE Remote ONLY This function allows you to easily understand the dialog of DVD even with the volume turned down. • This function only works for center-channel signal encoded multi-channel disc. Canceled Presetting Automatic DVD Sound Increase Level-DVD LEVEL Remote ONLY The DVD sound is sometimes recorded at a lower level than for other discs and sources. You can set the increase level for the currently loaded DVD. NORMAL MIDDLE HIGH (at the same time) NORMAL Original recording level. MIDDLE Output level is increased (less than "HIGH"). HIGH Output level is increased (more than "MIDDLE"). • Once the current DVD is ejected, this setting is canceled and set automatically to "NORMAL." Changing the Display Brightness-DIMMER You can dim the display window. Remote Control: DIM 1 DIM 2 (at the same time) Main Unit: DIM OFF AUTO DIM (Canceled) DIM 1 DIM 2 DIM OFF AUTO DIM (Canceled) DIM 1 DIM 2 AUTO DIM Dims the display. Erases the display illumination. Erase the display illumination when disc playback starts. • This function works only when playing DVD/VCD/SVCD or JPEG files. • The display illuminates when playback stops. Changing the Picture Tone-VFP (Video Fine Processor) Remote ONLY While showing a playback picture on the TV screen, you can select the preset picture tone, or adjust it and store your own likeliness. To select a preset picture tone 1 Activate VFP. NORMAL GAMMA 0 BRIGHTNESS 0 CONTRAST 0 SATURATION 0 TINT 0 SHARPNESS 0 On the TV screen 2 Select a preset picture tone. NORMAL USER2 CINEMA USER1 NORMAL CINEMA USER1/USER2 Normally select this. Suitable for a movie source. You can adjust parameters and can store the settings (see next page). 16
