INTEL(R) ME PLATFORM CONFIGURATION window The following options are listed in the INTEL(R) ME PLATFORM CONFIGURATION window: Change ME Password The Change ME Password option enables you to change the Intel ME password. To change the Intel ME password, select Change ME Password and press Enter. Type your new password and press Enter. When prompted to confirm the new password, type your new password again. Password considerations: For security reasons, it is recommended that you use a strong password that cannot be easily compromised. To set a strong password, use the following guidelines: • Set a password that contains eight to 32 characters. • Include at least one alphabetic character, one numeric character, and one symbol and so on) in the password. • Include at least one upper case letter and one lower case letter in the password. • You can also use the space bar and underscore ("_") in the password. Notes: • The Intel ME password has a length limit of 32 characters. If you enter more than 32 characters, the 32nd character will be replaced by the last character you enter. Thus, the password will be comprised of the first 31 characters and the last character. • The Intel ME password can be reset to the default one "admin" in the Setup Utility program. If you want to reset the password, set the Intel(R) Manageability Reset option from DISABLED to ENABLED. See "Intel AMT configuration settings in Setup Utility" on page 7. When the system restarts, a message Found unconfigure of Intel(R) ME Continue with unconfiguration (Y/N) will be displayed. Press Y. When you enter the MEBx again, you will find that the password has been successfully reset to "admin". FW Update Settings Select FW Update Settings and press Enter.
