Chapter 13: Selecting Destinations Use the backspace key to delete the old name; then, enter the new name for the trip. When you have finished, select OK. The trip has been renamed. 13.6 Selecting a Point of Interest as a Destination Spell Name - page 62 Select Category - page 64 Dining, ATM, Gas... Custom POIs - page 66 Points of Interest (or POIs) are commercial or recreational locations, landmarks, or services that are preloaded into the Magellan RoadMate database. There are over six million POI's in the database, which range from restaurants, parks, gas stations, and banks, to schools and police stations, and more. The purpose of the POI database (accessed through the Dining, ATM, Gas... menu option) is to provide you with a list of popular destinations without having to enter the address manually in order to route to them. 13.6.1 Spell Name If you know the name of the POI you are looking for, find it using the Spell Name feature. You can enter any word contained within the name and the Magellan RoadMate will return all entries containing that word. From the Destination screen, select Dining, ATM, Gas.., then select Spell Name. 62
