Target Applications IP and Serial Protocols over Frame Relay Introduction The Vanguard 340 and 340 Enhanced support multi protocol encapsulation of IP traffic and serial protocols over frame relay as specified by RFC 1490. As shown in Figure 1-3, a SNA cluster controller connects to a serial port on the Vanguard 340 and the Ethernet LAN connects to the 10/100BaseT Ethernet port.
