Vanguard Daughtercards DIM V.34 Modem This card supports a single V.11, V.24, V.35, or V.36 DIM (Digital Interface Module) and can be set as either a DTE or DCE. Figure 2-17 shows the DIM Daughtercard connector as it appears on the back panel. DIM SITE Figure 2-17. DIM Daughtercard Connector The V.34 modem daughtercard is essentially a 3460 modem that can be installed in the Vanguard 340. Once the card is in your unit, it performs as if it were an external modem. For information about configuring and using the V.34 modem, refer to the 3460 Fast'R User's Guide (Part Number T0022-01). Figure 2-18 shows the rear panel connectors on the V.34 modem daughtercard. DIAL LEASE V.90 Modem Figure 2-18. V.34 Daughtercard Connector The V.90 modem daughtercard provides dial back-up for a customers PPP Async applications. The V.90 uses a dual RJ-11 for connection to central offices, PBXs or telephone systems. V.90 is designed for the Vanguard 320 and 34x. The Vanguard V.90 daughtercard requires release 6.2 or greater software. Figure 2-19 shows the rear panel connectors on the V.90 modem daughtercard. V.34 Modem
The V.34 modem daughtercard is essentially a 3460 modem that can be installed in
the Vanguard 340. Once the card is in your unit, it performs as if it were an external
modem. For information about configuring and using the V.34 modem, refer to the
3460 Fast’R User’s Guide
(Part Number T0022-01).
Figure 2-18 shows the rear panel connectors on the V.34 modem daughtercard.

V.90 Modem
The V.90 modem daughtercard provides dial back-up for a customers PPP Async
applications. The V.90 uses a dual RJ-11 for connection to central offices, PBXs or
telephone systems. V.90 is designed for the Vanguard 320 and 34x. The Vanguard
V.90 daughtercard requires release 6.2 or greater software.
